Ashtma

You could catch asthma at any age, so don't go thinking you are too old. Steering clear of contaminated air might do you a lot of good in that quarter. It might help you survive getting a diagnosis in the first place.

The number of people suffering from asthma in the United States has only risen in the past couple of years. It suggests to me that the increase in industrial activity has somehow resulted in this. If ever there was a cause for the condition, it has got to be in there.

You don't cure asthma once you catch the disease, you treat it. That implies that once you have been diagnosed with the condition, you are going to have to remain on treatment for life. Trust me; you don't want to forget that. Even if it seems as if the wheezing has stopped, and you never get attacks anymore, you have to stay with the treatment.

In s strange way, it appears as though asthma happens more in areas where people are not very rich than in areas where they are… well, not rich. Perhaps something about the lifestyles of the rich and famous helps to keep the disease away.

Diseases really don't care much about the person you are; once you are exposed to their causes, you catch them. Asthma is that much more of a dangerous disease because people don't know what causes it. As such you don't know what to keep away from.
